The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre
The
formerly named "Colegio de huérfanos de Ferroviarios"
(The Orphans of Railroad Employees College), has been refurbished
by the Twon Hall of Torremolinos as a cultural centre. This
building, built between 1933 and 1936 protected and considered
to be of cultural interest by the Junta de Andalucía,
is an emblematic work of the "Modern Movement".
Inaugurated the 12th of November 2001, the premises made
up of 7.000 square metres distributed on two floors, house
the Municipal Cultural Workshops, The University School of
Hotel and Tourism of the Alcala University, theatre, cinema,
exhibition halls, library, newsprint library and archives.
